The Indiana Utility Commission has mandated that Indiana's electric utilities reduce
electricity consumption by 18 percent by 2018. In response to this
ambitious goal, electric utilities operating in the state initiated
It's an entirely free and voluntary program that, due to recent
legislative action may be terminated after this year. A certified home energy
rep will install energy saving devices for your home: 9 CFL lamps, 2 low-flow shower heads, 3 low-flow faucet aerators and
pipe insulation for electric water heaters; an assessment with a printed report
review requires about 1.5 hours. The final benefit is $25 to
the Exchange Club of Lafayette for each home assessment we recruit.
